The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City served over 1,200 urban youth in 2010 at five Club locations with before, after, and all day care during most school holidays and the summer months.

A 10 week summer session at five sites in the metro area – Thornberry, East Side, Wyandotte County, Leslie, and Hawthorne. Membership in the Boys & Girls Clubs is open to all urban youth (ages 5-18) in Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, and Independence, Missouri.

Youth development programming offered by the Clubs fits under the umbrella of five core areas: Healthy Lifestyles, Education & Careers, Technology, and Public Speaking/Effective Communication Skills.

Each program has been developed nationally by Boys & Girls Clubs of America and is delivered by trained youth development professionals in an environment designed for kids.

In addition to programs within the Club, Summer Camp participants experience 120 educational field trips during the ten-week summer program.

ATOMIC Blast! focuses on taking math and science education beyond the classroom to spark a child's interest through exploration and discovery. Through relevant science and math lessons, members have fun learning and gain confidence in their ability to do math and science.
