Now in its tenth year Mattie Rhodes Summer Art Camp continues to expand its creative and educational opportunities for children in the Greater Kansas City area. Participants are encouraged to celebrate their own cultural heritage through the arts, as well as to explore the traditions of other cultures. Instructors use a variety of teaching methods to stimulate imaginations while continuously cultivating creative expression, confidence, self-discovery and respect for others.

Five one-week sessions are offered each summer from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participants are provided with art materials, a camp T-shirt and healthy snacks. Sessions cover five areas of art instruction:
Ceramics
Fiber/craft
Cultural art
Mixed media
Printmaking
