Operation Breakthrough, Inc. is a state licensed daycare and family service facility that serves 674 children (ages 6 weeks through 17 years old).

Camperships send participants to Camp Shawnee for a week of resident camp. Camp Shawnee is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Approximately 250 school-aged children attend Operation Breakthrough in before-school, after-school, and full-day holiday and summer enrichment program.

During the school-year, children receive breakfast/snack, reading and homework help, literacy activities, outdoor play, art and music classes, athletic activities, psychosocial skills groups, Betsy’s Kids program (a special talent-exploration program which is designed to give every child the chance to explore and develop their individual talents and interests), and violence prevention lessons. In addition, health, dental, and vision care are available to all students, as well as individual therapy for those who have suffered from abuse and neglect.

Summer programs combine summer fun with meaningful educational activities, including a reading program, day camps, a performing arts experience, educational field trips, job shadow opportunities, and community service projects.

One of the highlights of the Summer Program is the annual tradition of sending dozens of children to Camp Shawnee, an ACA accredited overnight camp owned and operated by Camp Fire USA Heartland Council.
